I recently got into thrifting, and found a bunch of high quality low price items, such as a like-new brooks brothers silk shirt, a jcrew wool blazer, etc. My husband says I was taking away the good stuff from poor people. We do make decent income and can afford nice stuff at the original price. But I grew up poor so finding cheap and good stuff always delights me. Cannot compartmentalise to save my life. If I'm upset, livid, worried, anxious, etc - it shows. I don't know how to shut that part of my brain and put on a fake or brave face. This hurts my relationships and work. Luckily my partner has accepted this and I can delegate meetings when I'm in a sour state. Need advice on how to fake a good mood and suppress the rage/anxiety that comes with hearing bad news or being in an unpleasant situation. Appreciate your help in advance. #Weakness 11 reactions

I’ve heard so many people tell me that one of my flaws was that I’m selfish although I’m a nice person. Honestly, I don’t regret being selfish if that means looking out for myself in my 20s, making sure I have no regrets in life and take care of myself. When I look back, I actually feel proud of myself for making sure I realize whatever goal is mine and now I am able to provide and give back to my family.
