Do I need the entire Budget Binder?

You have the freedom to work with the pages that work for you. Not everyone will need a year at a glance because you might not a long-term planner. Some of you just want to focus on this month and that’s totally fine.

I encourage you to go through the budget binder and print only the sheets that will work for you and your family. In future editions, I may add new pages that may end up working for you and you can simply add those to your budget binder at that time.

How do you Use a Budget Binder?

After you purchase the finance binder, you’ll receive an email from Sendowl containing a link to your purchase. Once you’ve downloaded the budget binder, there are a complete set of instructions and a lesson on budgeting.

The instructions will walk you through how to use each page included in the LAAB 2023 Budget Binder. Again, here are the pages, and brief instructions on what you’ll be doing with each of these pages from the binder.

1. Budget Binder Cover Page

Print this page and put it in the clear pocket of your binder. If the binder you have on hand doesn’t have a pocket, simply print it on thicker paper or use a sheet protector and put it as the first page inside of your finance binder.

2. Monthly Budget Worksheet

The most important pages in this money binder are none other than your monthly budget worksheets. That’s the whole entire purpose for a budget binder — creating a budget. Not only that, but you want to make sure the budget works for you. If the regular monthly budget worksheet is too advanced for you, no worries, check out the next worksheet that’s included as a bonus.

3. Simplified Budget Worksheet

As a bonus, you will receive a simplified one-page budget worksheet. This is great for beginners. Maybe you don’t have that many bills and you just need a simplified way of budgeting. No worries, this worksheet will definitely help.

4. Monthly Debt Repayment Worksheet

Your monthly debt repayment worksheet needs to be filled out monthly so you can take an assessment of your progress on a month to month basis. Your bill payment date could change, your balance changes, so all of those things should be notated monthly in your budget binder using this worksheet.

5. Bill Payment Checklist

Your bill payment checklist will help you make sure you never miss a payment again. Simply write the bills on the left-hand side. In the monthly columns, you will add a check once that bill has been paid or auto-debited from your account.

6. Blank Monthly Calendar

These blank monthly calendars are the perfect place to write down the due dates for your bills!

7. Monthly Expense Tracker

Your monthly expense tracker is where you can keep up with your day-to-day spending. Don’t worry — you don’t have to carry your budget binder around with you. Simply save your receipts and track those expenses every night or at the very least every week.

8. Savings Tracker

This worksheet is another highlight of the budget binder. What’s more gratifying than watching your savings grow? Set your goal and get a visual representation of your progress with the savings jar worksheet included.

9. Password Organizer

A password organizer is a place where you can keep all of your important financial log-ins and passwords. I use Lifelock now to secure my passwords so I’m not always forgetting them and worrying about creating a strong enough password. However, my husband isn’t tech-savvy and appreciates the good ole pen to paper. If you do use this worksheet, make sure you keep your budget binderin a secure place.

10. Year at a Glance Worksheet

Last, there is the year-at-a-glance worksheet where you can see the beginning and ending amounts of your checking account balances each month. It’s totally optional, but some people like a birds-eye view of their accounts, so it’s there if you need it.
